What I Got From KL

Published by sharlinin at 11:07 pm under Just Because Edit This

Before going to KL, I was bitten by the craft bug and planned to get some card punches and perhaps a card-making book. When I got to MPH at MidValley and I looked through some of the books there, I realized that they were really OVERPRICED! By the time I got the idea to just look for inspiration online, I didn’t have any time to look at the card punches. Price in Kinokuniya and MPH are the same for the CarlaCraft punches: RM13 for the smaller sized ones. RM18 for the bigger punches. RM22 (or was it RM28?) for the corner punches.

One day before leaving for home, I went to Czip Lee, in Kajang. First I got my cutting mat (RM9) and then I found the punches. Same CarlaCraft punches were being sold at RM12! The bigger ones were RM16.50! Arrghhh!

In the end, I got:

  1. Five CarlaCraft punches (balloon, cake, vinca, folk star, cloud). I refuse to buy the Xmas tree punch.
  2. Cutting mat
  3. Sandwich bag (to put glitter in - just pop in card with glue in right places and shake, no mess!)

Didn’t buy any colourful A4-sized cards, I’m settling for the wood-free paper I bought a year ago. I think I could live in that stationery shop. So many interesting things to see.

Oh, I went to the supermarket today and bought some glitter pens made in China. Just one pen, many different coloured refills. Only RM3.20. Cheap! I also bought an eraser. I’m going to try making a rubber stamp using it. I couldn’t find heart-shaped punches, so maybe I’ll do heart-shaped stamps instead.

I have some tips for you to save money:
Go to a home-decorations shop, they have free samples wallpapers and colour-cards for choosing paint-colours, also for free. :)
And no I don’t make cards but I have 2 sisters that do:P

Thanks for the tip, Berend. There aren’t any (that I know of) wallpaper shops here. Too costly, and most houses are made of wood.

As for colour cards, we seem to have the booklets instead. Oh well…I’ll keep an eye open.

    You have cool sisters! =)
